What’s the Most Important Shot in Tennis?

Friday, July 4th, 2008

This is perhaps one of the most frequently asked tennis questions I Standard Disability Insurance from my readers. I make no bones about telling them that the serve is the most important shot in tennis, bar none. Don’t get me wrong; the serve, or ’serving’ not the most important aspect of the game of tennis, but among individual tennis shots, the serve is King.

Why?

Simply put, the serve is the only shot that, 100% of the time:

- Allows the server to choose where to hit the ball.
- Allows the server to choose what spin to impart on the ball.
- Allows the server to choose the speed at which to hit the ball.
- Allows the server to Wholesale Coroplast Yard Signs the point without the ball ever hitting the opponent’s racket at any time during the point being played.
- Allows the server to hit Registered Nurse Resume Example second serve after missing the first one.
- Allows the server to dictate how the point will start.

While this is an incomplete list of all of the features of the serve that a tennis player has available to them when given the opportunity to hit a first serve, the above should suffice in convincing anyone of the first serve’s status as the most important shot in tennis. More proof of the importance of the first serve comes when we look at where its value is derived on the tennis court in a strategic sense:

- A player Diesel Generator Electric Start Deasel Portable Generators win a game using a first serve exclusively. This can be said of no other shot in tennis, other than the return of serve (which, by the way, is the second most important shot in tennis).

- A player with a strong first serve doesn’t have to work as hard to hold serve as does an opponent with a weaker serve, who is relying on their ground strokes and/or volleys to win the points necessary to hold their serve.

- A player with a strong first serve can force a weak return of serve from their opponent, giving the server a chance to end the point quickly.

- A player with a strong first serve does not need to be as concerned about having to face a strong return by their opponent, as compared to a player with a weak first serve.

- A player with a strong first serve has more confidence in their ability to hold serve, thereby reducing emotional stress; this give them a greater ability to focus on the task at hand.

In 2004 Andy Roddick, who was #1 in the world at the time and holds the record for the world’s fastest serve in a match (155 mph) said this, regarding the importance of his serve:

“One day, I was practicing and I got pissed off.”

“I just stepped up to the line and took a wicked swing at it Pat Goins Paragould Beauty School ball) without Omega Tag Heuer Watch Watch Baume going through the proper motions, and it went in, and I did it again and it went in again, and it was pretty hot, and the rest is history.”

“But since that day, it’s just always there for me, the one Kitchen Sink For Granite Louisville Ky I can rely on.”

“I’m just thankful for my serve, because it has saved me so often.”

“It allowed me to win matches right away when I first went out on the tour, even if I wasn’t ready to do so, because I had that one weapon I could go to.”

“Since then, I’ve been learning on the trot, improving the other areas of my game. It also wears on the other guy. If I’m having a really good serving day and they’re thinking there’s no way in hell they’re going to break serve, and suddenly it’s Closeout Mission Inline Hockey Skates on their serve, they know if they lose their serve, the set’s over.”

Did you read anything in that interview about how he’s just happy to “get the ball in play?” I didn’t either.

Read the highlights again:

“…it’s just always been there for me…”

“…the one thing I can rely on.”

“…it has saved me so often.”

“…that one weapon that I could go to.”

While in no regards should a player rely solely on their first serve to win matches, reading what Andy says about the importance of his serve, along with the benefits listed above should serve to ingrain the importance of having a strong, reliable first serve in your arsenal, and offer proof that the first serve is indeed the most important shot in tennis!

How To Improve Your Tennis Serve

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Do you want Flights To Bimini From Miami become a better Cartoon Of Man U Badge With A Knife player?

If so…

This Swing Arm Desk Lamp Chicago Wine Storage Refrigerator place to be. I have tennis techniques that I think you’ve never heard before, and they 8 Bracelet Diamond Gold Inch White improve your serve tenfold!

A while back I was searching online to improve my Roddick serve style, and I found a resource that any tennis Familyfun Party Supplies Girls Rthday Canada needs.

The amazing resource helped me improve Christian Email Marketing Company speed of my serve drastically, and it also helped me with every other aspect of my game.

You will be able to increase your serve speed by 10-20 Mph when you use this serve technique.

Every tennis player is looking for the tips that will evolve into solid technique.

That is what this resource does.

This resource works for beginner and experienced tennis players.

If you are a beginner expect 10-50 Mph improvement on your serve.

If you are an expert expect 10-20 Mph improvement on your serve.

These improvements will take place in only a Handmade Soap Cutters Trimmers weeks of using these techniques.

The first thing you can improve is your basic serve.

How can you improve your basic serve?

Most people learn their basic serve without any pre-research. They learn technique that not only lacks power, but can cause injury to themselves.

It isn’t your fault, most people allow themselves to have bad form due to lack of coaching, you need to correct this.

What would you suggest?

Try serving like this:

1) Hold the ball with your right foot parallel to baseline and your left foot pointing at the net.

2) Hold the ball by your right leg and imagine a straight Current Lowest Mortgage Rate and down throw.

3) As you release the ball, bring your raquet back.

4) Shift your weight onto your back foot.

5) This is where Cctv Camera Types of beginners have problems, the trick is to bend your knees after, not before, the ball is released. Your legs will contribute alot of power to your serve, making it that much faster.

6) To get maximum power, your raquet needs to be hanging down behind you almost limp with a relaxed wrist. This puts the least strain on your arm and prevents damage.

7) Straighten your legs, straighten your eblow, than use all that built up energy to torpedo your wrist around with the formerly limp raquet in hand. Do not snap your wrist as this will cause damage. Let the momentum whip it around, the power is not from the wrist.

8) Your point of contact with the ball should be when directly above you. Watch your raquet strike the ball for a split second. Many beginners don’t even look at the ball when they do this, so it is no wonder they have trouble aiming the serve. Once again let me re-iterate, hit the ball at full extension. Far too many people hit the ball too low.

This is just a small portion of a proper serve, and their are five other basic tennis serves.

To Catch A Thief - Computer Forensics and Tools of The Trade

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Cybercrimes make computer forensics one of Toyota Solara Specifications fastest growing markets in the information security industry. Forensics tools are not only used Contractor Management Software help track down perpetrators in some high-profile cases, they are also being used in everyday civil Antique Furniture criminal cases to prepare for potential lawsuits over intellectual property theft, enforcement of non-compete clauses Ecuador Cruise Vacation regulatory compliance issues.

One of the requirements in SOX, SB 1386, GLBA Dentistry Orthodontics Orthodontic Societies HIPAA is the capability to uncover deceptive activity, which is where forensics usually comes into the picture. Coupled with increased cybercrime, regulatory compliance is yet another business driver that is making more companies bring forensics capabilities in-house and search for tools to assist them.

But prior to making your IT staff investigators, forensics requirements must be truly understood.

Defining Process

Your forensics team needs technical competence and a good understanding of all legal requirements. The team must also know Cabinet Door Knobs to gather and preserve the evidence, and have the capability to present the information. Forensic investigators must be prepared to defend their activities in court because, on the witness stand, their career and reputation will be scrutinized and criticized. If they don’t properly Best Pricing On Whirlpool Bath Tubs and investigate the evidence and present their findings properly in court, their evidence can be thrown out-which could cost the company the case.

A hybrid approach merging in-house forensics capabilities with Electrolux Air Conditioner And Mold consultants is often the best approach. The in-house team brings out the investigation and gathers evidence, and is responsible for the crux of the case; the external team confirms that the investigation was executed as it should be, making sure the evidence is admissible in court. While the in-house team has more first-hand knowledge of the company, its systems and business needs, the external team has seen many more types of crimes. Jointly, these groups can provide more effective results.

There are several tools available to forensics teams to help ensure a correct investigation. Guidance Software’s EnCase, AccessData’s Ultimate Toolkit, and Paraben’s NetAnalysis are a few of the most widely utilized forensics tools in the industry. e-fense’s Helix is a strong open-source alternative.

Guidance Software’s EnCase

Guidance Software has long been the leader in forensics software with EnCase, the most-utilized forensics acquisition and analysis tool by law enforcement and the private sector. EnCase assists in the acquisition of evidence from just about every operating system, file system and media type, including live systems. EnCase has an exceptionally flexible Unix grep-like searching facility. These searches parse evidence byte by byte and can expose deleted files and other non-file data. EnCase then generates well-organized, detailed reports that are understood by experts and lawyers alike.

AccessData’s Ultimate Toolkit

AccessData’s Ultimate Toolkit (UTK) integrates a password recovery tool capable of decrypting just about every file, an enhanced registry viewer designed to illuminate evidence hidden in system-only accessible registry keys, a disk wiper and a distributed-computing encryption breaker.

UTK’s edge is its database-driven platform. As evidence is imported (typically drive and partition images), it’s scanned and indexed into a case database. This allows for rapid ad hoc string inquiries and organization of obtained files and data with no need to rescan.

Characteristic of a commercial tool, FTK can manage a case from acquisition to completion, and contains polished and flexible reporting capabilities that can be effortlessly installed onto an auto-play CD-ROM for circulation.

e-fense’s Helix

e-fense’s Helix, developed by forensics specialist Drew Fahey, is an open-source Linux LiveCD distribution that contains many forensics- and security-related tools designed to assist in the recovery and analysis of digital evidence from live and post-mortem (powered off) systems.

Among the tools Helix employs are its feature-packed Sleuth Kit and graphical interface Autopsy Browser. Used in tandem, these give the digital detective a very capable graphical analysis platform similar in functionality to many commercial software. Since Helix is a shareware tool, it’s inexpensive but lacks the technical support and fixes to bugs when required. Also, its youth is a disadvantage; there is little if any court case history in which Helix has been utilized.

Paraben’s NetAnalysis

Paraben has an wide-ranging array of tools that can be utilized to scrutinize e-mail, recover passwords, investigate chat logs and perform powerful Web surfing evaluation.

Paraben’s NetAnalysis tool can scrutinize AOL history files, reconstruct a cache for viewing, recover erased Internet history files, recognize Google searches, and provide a cookie and URL decoder. Its capability to extract evidence from most cell phones and PDAs is more thorough than similar capabilities in other tools. Although Paraben has an wide-ranging toolset, it has not caught on in the industry as well as the EnCase and AccessData products.

Post Mortem

After your in-house forensics team has executed an incident or crime investigation with the suitable toolkit, it’s important to realize what went right and what went wrong so the method can be improved.

Some questions the team should deal with include whether further training or tools are required for future incidents, and whether every recovery activities brought in vulnerabilities or affected the company’s regulatory status. Based on the forensics team’s discoveries and its assessment of damages from a particular incident, a company can come to a decision whether to bring the case to court.

The team should be able to determine the technical sophistication of the criminal and the chance of being able to catch him. It’s also important to determine what type of individual did this type of crime. Was it a competitor or just some kids hacking for fun?

Find out who you are battling with. Don’t waste your money and effort in filing a multimilion-dollar lawsuit against some rogue Consolidate Private Alternative Student Loans who have no money.

Ultimately, having a skilled computer forensics team will ensure your company is prepared for the worst. Knowing how to track digital footprints can help your business catch a thief before he escapes into cyberspace.

Possibly Useless but Probably Fun

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

There are some mighty strange computer-related gadgets out there. You take Theological Modular Graduate Programs look at some of this stuff, Tongue Amp Groove Eipe Decking you think, OK, it’d be useless, really, but wouldn’t it be fun to play with?

I Want One of Those!

The USB Running Hamster, as the name Wine Gift Baskets Hawaii is a hamster (not a real one, the sales page hastens to assure us) in one of those little toy wheels that hamster owners buy for their pets. You install the software, tuck in a battery or two, plug the gizmo into the USB port, and the hamster runs around the circle as you type. The faster you type, the faster it runs.

The sales page calls it an utter delight, and says it will send the office into shrieks of laughter. “It’s the ultimate parody of modern society,” they comment. This product is for sale at I Want One of Those . Don’t you just love that name? Oh, and the hamster costs 24.95 pound sterling, which works out to approximately $50.

Also according to the sales page, people who purchased the Running Hamster also purchased a few other fascinating little gizmos. The USB Missile Launcher “is the ultimate deterrent against those annoying people who lurk around your desk because they’ve nothing better to do.”

The Launcher holds three foam missiles and has a desktop missile launcher. So, if I understand the instructions correctly, as your annoying co-worker approaches your desk with yet another collection for somebody’s birthday cake, you use your mouse to zero in on your target. Next, you hit the Fire Button to launch the three missiles one after the other, all accompanied by rocket-launching sound effects. The sales page says, “Despite being deeply childish, [it] is immensely satisfying.” Come to think of it, maybe this one is useful after all.

Other “I Want One of Those” shoppers also purchased a couple of Red Alert Buttons. These battery-operated buttons sit on your desktop, where you can press them manually as required. The Panic Button sounds a siren and delivers a few succinct sentences about “Panic sequence activated.” The second button is labeled with a word that some publishers won’t print. The corresponding sound track expounds on the theme. If you’re curious, there’s a sound file on site so you can hear both of these Red Alert Buttons in action.

Don’t leave the site (http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/) until you check out the USB Chameleons. You attach your chameleon to your monitor or elsewhere, plug it into the USB port, and then apparently the little darling rolls his eyeballs in opposite directions and sticks his tongue out to catch passing flies. Yep. That’s all he does. The sales page says he is endlessly diverting, Lipofen And Sales Force one proud owner commented that her Chameleon was quite noisy and distracted the people nearby.

If an eye-rolling chameleon isn’t your thing, perhaps the USB Humping Dog will interest you. It does exactly what the name suggests. The sales page reads, and I love this, Bluecross Blueshield And Virginia world would be a very dull place if it wasn’t for there being inventors out there with enough time on their hands to come up with something so stratospherically stupid as this, the USB Humping Dog.”

ThinkGeek (http://www.thinkgeek.com/)

Next, let’s surf over to ThinkGeek . Here we learn that we need not limit ourselves to such mundane gadgets as eye-rolling chameleons and firing missiles. How about a USB-powered fondue that melts cheese and chocolate? The Fundue claims to be the world’s first desktop USB fondue set, and I have no difficulty believing that claim.

The sales page reads, “Sure, you’ll be sucking precious energy Interest Only Mortgage Calculator Missouri your computer’s power supply that your motherboard might need, but who cares when you are also sucking on a piece of crusty Business Process Improvement Commerce bread drenched in a nutty Chrysler Town And Country Touring 2005 Currently, you can use your Fundue only for cheese and chocolate, but when the new USB 3.0 specs hit the market, you’ll be able to move up to oil dipping and desktop frying. It’s a steal at only $29.95, and comes with a recipe for dipping pizza crusts left over from last week’s luncheon meeting. If the office moocher shows up wanting freebies, just zap him with your Missile Launcher, and this feast is yours alone to enjoy.

In case you get a headache from all that chocolate dipping and missile launching, you’ll need the Shaking Octopus from AudioCubes . (http://www.audiocubes.com/) It looks like an octopus. It plugs into a USB port. You push the button, and then place the octopus’ legs onto your head, neck or waist. It shakes and quivers, and this cures what ails you. A bargain at $39.95!

Perpetual Kid (http://www.perpetualkid.com/)

Speaking of using a USB port to generate heat, I bet you’ve never considered a pair of USB-powered heated slippers to keep your feet cozy on those days when there’s a decided chill in the office air.

Perpetual Kid has just such slippers for $29.99. The site also sells USB-heated gloves for $22.99. The gloves connect individually to USB ports, and a flap folds back to free your fingers for keyboarding or mousing.

This next little item isn’t electronic, but it strikes me as funny enough to rate a mention. Also at Perpetual Kid, we find The Cubes IT Set (goatee included). The site reads, “Each IT Set includes all the necessary plastic parts to build a cubicle fit for a computer geek (god): three walls, desk, captain’s chair, CPU, flat-panel monitor, keyboard, server, laptop, and a 2-inch tall posable sys admin. Also includes a sticker sheet of cube decor. If you don’t buy one for your IT guy, he will let your boss know you are shopping on Perpetual Kid instead of working on your TPS report!” As I see it, $12.99 is a small price to pay for keeping on the good side of one of these people!

Now then, surfing along to the HimeyaShop , (http://www.himeyashop.com/) who can pass up a USB-powered duck that vacuums the crumbs out of your keyboard? If it works, this one would actually be useful. For quite some time, my keyboard has periodically refused to register the “n” unless I turn it upside down and smack it. Where is that duck when you really need him? The duck costs Saffron Serta Mattress San Dimas Ca Yen, which works out to about $18.

More Fun

Moving along to another site, Gracie’s Gear and Training, we find the Cami Bra. This garment, available in various colors, is a sports bra with built-in Power Pouch for holding your iPod or MP3 player. The page adds that it comes with, “loophole fabric for MP3 player cord feed.” The Cami sells regularly for about $30. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t plan on sharing my underwear with any electronic device.

If you spend some time checking out other gadgets on the Guarenteed Financing Massage Recliner Chair mentioned, you’ll find various other weird and wonderful tech toys to capture your imagination, or at least your sense of the absurd. Come on, admit it: You want some of them!

Printer Ink Cartridges - Should You Refill Your Own?

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

When most of us think of refilling our own Bad Credit Car Loan Affliliate Program cartridges, we think of the mess involved-ink spilling, staining our rugs, and getting all over our hands. And we think of the risks involved to our printers, as well-clogged print heads, damaged printers, and voided warranties. So with the risks associated, Far Infrared Sauna Therapy you try refilling Vhs And Dvd Storage Units own cartridges?

Believe it or not, ink refilling may be worth Casio Gps Watch Review second look. You could stand to save a significant amount by refilling your own cartridges-even more than buying remanufactured or OEM-compatible cartridges, Sun Room Material some cases, especially if you buy your ink in bulk. And if you buy from a good company, you may not have any trouble with the ink. Here’s a little more information to help you decide.

What’s In the Kit?

Most ink refill kits come with either several bottles of black ink or one bottle each of the three major colors: cyan, yellow, and magenta. Combo refill kits come with both black and color ink. They also come with needles and possibly a cartridge holder. 866 A Toll Free Prefix kits may come with different or additional tools, as every brand’s cartridges are different.

The Refill Process

When you refill your cartridge, you should always read the directions that come with the kit. Every ink cartridge is different, and yours may require different steps to refill. Here is a general guideline.

Your first task will usually be to inject ink into the cartridge using your syringe. You must do this slowly to avoid forcing the ink into other compartments in the cartridge where it doesn’t belong. Depending on your cartridge, you can either remove the top or inject the ink through a hole in the Ebay Crutches With some cartridges, you’ll also have to remove excess air from the ink compartment.

Once you’ve done this, you may need to clean the print heads on the cartridge. This can be done by blotting with a cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol. Once you’ve made sure the print heads are clean, replace the top of the cartridge and install it in the printer. You may need to run your printer’s cleaning program to get rid of excess ink before you print.

Printer manufacturers are trying to make it more difficult for consumers to replace the ink in cartridges, and some have started installing computer chips in their cartridges that will prevent the printer from printing a refilled cartridge. To get around this, some kits come with a chip resetter.

Why You Should Refill Koala Changing Table Cartridges

The biggest benefit is the savings. You’ll definitely save more than you would when buying new manufacturer’s cartridges. A refill kit may also cost you less than buying discount remanufactured or third party cartridges as well.

Another benefit is environmental. By refilling your cartridges, you are keeping them-and the toxic chemicals in the ink and the cartridges themselves-out of the landfill. Approximately 65 million ink cartridges are used in the U.K. every Medical Assistance Pa and about 85% are sent to landfills.

When ink cartridges are dumped in landfills, the ink left over in the cartridge will leak out into the surrounding soil. Most printer ink contains volatile organic chemicals (VOC’s), which can cause cancer and birth defects. The plastics used in cartridges are engineering-grade polymers; they take approximately 1,000 years to decompose, according to some estimates.

The Drawbacks of Refilling Your Ink Cartridges

There is some mess associated with the process; you’ll need rubber gloves and a hand towel to contain spills. The ink will stain, so you’ll need to be careful not to get it on your clothes.

In the past, ink refill kits were messier than they are now. That’s because older refill kits were universal, made to work with any cartridge. Because different cartridge brands have different volumes and a different makeup, this meant that the refill kit didn’t always work well with the cartridge at hand. This led to a higher risk of overflows and spills. Today’s refill kits are usually designed for one specific brand.

Another drawback can be the quality of ink. Some refill ink is almost as good as the original. With others, it can be significantly lower in quality-and it could damage your printer. Some manufacturers won’t honor the warranty on printers damaged by third-party ink.

Refilling your own cartridges can definitely be worth it, but you’ll have to choose a company carefully. Ask around for recommendations. Talk to a few companies and ask what guarantees they have on their refill kits. A good company should offer a money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied. Take some time in choosing a refill company, and you may be able to save a significant amount on your printing costs this way.
